A complete ordering setup for a local cafe. Customers order from their table, the kitchen sees each order land in real time, and the owner gets one place to manage the menu and read the numbers.

Mackro is my own app, designed and built from an empty file. It logs a meal from a photo, a barcode or a plain sentence, and gives coaches a portal for their clients on the other side of it. Currently in closed beta ahead of an iOS and Android launch.

ClearStart Digital is a one-person development studio based in Newtownards, Northern Ireland, building websites, apps and tools for small businesses. Whether it's an ordering system for a cafe or a scheduling dashboard for a local company, I build it from the ground up to work the way your business needs it to.
I build for myself as well as for clients. Mackro, my own iOS and Android app, was taken from an empty file to a working product in closed beta — the same way I'd build yours.

I focus on new builds for small businesses — websites, apps and tools made from scratch. I'm happy to make smaller changes to an existing website, but I don't currently take on audits, security assessments or work on large existing platforms.
Most websites take two to four weeks from kick-off to launch. Web apps and larger builds usually run four to eight weeks depending on scope. You get a timeline in writing before anything starts.
Every project is quoted on its own scope, so there is no fixed menu price. What I can promise is that the number you agree at the start is the number you pay — no hidden fees and no surprise charges. Get in touch for a free quote.
Not necessarily. If you have copy and photography ready I will use it. If you don't, I can help structure the content and source imagery so a blank page never holds the project up.
Yes. Every site is designed for small screens first and tested on real devices, not just a browser window dragged narrow. Mobile performance is part of the build rather than a patch at the end.
Yes. I stay available for updates, fixes and new features after launch. Maintenance plans cover hosting, security updates and content changes, and you can start or stop one whenever it suits you.
Mainly Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS and Node.js, with PostgreSQL where there is data to store. I choose the right tools for each project rather than forcing everything through the same stack.
